Sterling has experience in representing his clients in all aspects of litigation, from the very beginning stages that occur before the lawsuit is even filed, to the stages that occur even after winning the lawsuit (which may include collecting on the judgment or filing an appeal). Sterling represents his clients in Superior courts, Appellate courts, Federal District courts, and, if the need arises, in Justice courts. Sterling has years of experience conducting depositions, engaging in arbitration and mediations, and handling all aspects of the discovery process in litigation, which can be highly complex.
Not all clients require court-room/litigation assistance. Sterling also assists his clients with general legal matters and advice. In addition to his litigation experience, Sterling will assist individuals and businesses in non-litigation matters. Some clients need general counsel regarding a particular contract or real estate deal they have entered. Some clients need advice on setting up their business (i.e., what type of business is appropriate for them—a corporation? a limited liability company?) or they need assistance in preparing and filing the various documents that occur in forming a business. Other clients have a business already set up, but need advice for ongoing aspects of running their business, including reviewing and/or drafting legal documents. Other clients require general advice on how to handle management disputes or employer-employee disputes that inevitably arise in the ownership of a business.
